Have You Heard About These All-New Restaurants Opening in Atlanta This Fall/Winter?

Between construction, permits, and hiring, it’s never been an easy task to open a brand-new restaurant. Unfortunately, the pandemic adds another complex layer to an already complicated onion. After several months of delays and unexpected obstacles, however, the owners of the 3 Atlanta restaurants are moving forward with their opening plans this fall – with the cautious optimism necessary to see through their long-planned establishments. The following restaurants will add all sorts of cuisine to the already rich Atlanta culinary landscape, from juicy cheeseburgers and vegan barbecue to authentic Japanese. Take a look at our list below!

The Abby Singer – 225 Rogers Street NE, Building 11, Atlanta, GA 30317
Projected Opening: End of November 2020

The Abbey Singer is the brain-child of the owner, Mike Horn, who previously worked in film and television prior to his career in restaurants. An ode to the late and great production manager and assistant director, Abner “Abby” Singer, the Kirkwood pub in the up-and-coming Pratt Pullman District will feature Minnesota’s famed Juicy Lucy cheeseburger, which is made with two burger patties that are filled with hot and melted cheese. We bet you cannot wait to sink your teeth into this delectable staple!

Grass VB Joint – 5385 Five Forks Trickum Road, Stone Mountain GA 30076
Projected Opening: End of November 2020

After opening at We Suki Suki’s Global Grub Collective Food Market last November and moving to Orpheus Brewing in Midtown earlier this year, vegan barbecue pop-up, Grass VBQ Joint, will expand their operation yet again and open a permanent location Thanksgiving week near Stone Mountain. Grass VBQ Joint serves up jerk wingz, veef brisket, reuben sandwiches with corned veef, and an oyster mushroom po’boy, alongside yummy desserts, such as mini sweet potato pies and vegan cupcakes.

OK Yaki – 714 Moreland Avenue SE, Atlanta, GA 30316
Projected Opening: December 2020/ January 2021

Okonomiyaki popup, OK Yaki, will soon open in the newly renovated Seville complex on Moreland Avenue. Owned by Corban Irby, patrons can expect a menu offering Osaka-style street foods, like yakisoba noodles, gyoza dumplings, and okonomiyaki, which is a savory, onion and cabbage-filled griddled pancake topped with meats and okonomi sauce. There will also be new surprises in store on the menu, such as Japanese-style fried chicken, Japanese curry, and more!
